Kirby is the Nintendo character, which is most likely overturning the end of the world. That said at least Sakurai and his team as she made Kirby for the last survivor of the start sequence of Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Link, Samus, Fox, Pikachu, Mario – Everyone will become you to red-eyed shadows of their own. Not Kirby. No, he escapes on his loyal star and relies on to save the world.

However, Kirby is one of the few Nintendo heroes who could not shine on the switch yet in an extraordinary solo adventure. Instead of a Dread, a Breath of the Wild or Odyssey, there were only Kirby Star Allies in 2017, a title that matches his predecessors in almost all aspects and plays again in Kirby’s homeland, Planet PopStar. There is also a low level of difficulty and a little scope. The second dimension is Kirby just too small, and so he leaves them finally. With Kirby and the forgotten land (Buy Now) he dares to a completely new, but at the same time very old world full of opportunities and challenges. Can he prove himself on his first major switch adventure in the third dimension as a true hero?

Old ideas, new world

Actually, the amazing is just that the forgotten country does not feel like a copy of other platformers. The game has its own identity from the beginning and that is far from the main action upright.

This is especially due to the aesthetic concept of an abandoned world. The remains of civilization draw as a red thread through the game. The world is consistent in itself and gives one the feeling of being a real place. There are different environments, but everything remains part of a large whole.

This also applies within the sections: these do not act like a collection of different levels ideas with loose hints of water or desert, as it was often the case in New Super Mario games. There is an artistic overall concept that gives the world a sense at several levels and often lacks the other platformers.

Levels to bite

This does not mean that the levels would be boring or too much. Even if you recognize ideas from time to time, there is no game sequence that would be monotonous or unnecessary. On the contrary, the design is often incredibly clever. Especially impressive is how ruins for the design were used. Prominent presented in the trailers was above all an old shopping center. But there is still so much more that we do not want to anticipate at this point.
