Open World

Gemessen an der bisherigen Entwicklung der Reihe kann man davon ausgehen, dass das neue Tomb Raider zum ersten Mal eine Open World bieten wird. In den vorherigen Teilen gab es zwar sehr große Areale, die miteinander verbunden waren, aber eine richtige Open World, wie man sie zum Beispiel aus den Assassin’s-Creed-Spielen kennt, gab es bisher noch nicht.

Survival und Crafting

Seit 2013 und dem damals erfolgten Reboot der Reihe, spielt Crafting eine wesentliche Rolle im Tomb-Raider-Universum. Diese Mechanik wird sehr wahrscheinlich zurückkehren und vielleicht entsprechend erweitert. Gerade im Zusammenhang mit einer Open World eröffnen sich ganz neue Möglichkeiten.

Unwahrscheinlich aber zumindest passend wäre zum Beispiel die Vorstellung, dass Lara diesmal essen und trinken muss. Eine Nahrungsbeschaffung wie zum Beispiel in Metal Gear Solid 3 würde den Survival-Aspekt wesentlich intensiver gestalten.

Camouflage

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider konnte sich Lara mit Schlamm bedenken, um sich vor Feinden zu tarnen. Diese Mechanik war allerdings nur ein cooles Gimmick und hat das Gameplay kaum beeinflusst. Vielleicht denkt Crystal Dynamics dieses Feature aber weiter und macht es notwendig, um in der neuen Spielwelt zu überleben.

Vielleicht kann Lara sich diesmal Kleidung basteln, um besser mit der Umgebung zu verschmelzen. Auch hier könnte Metal Gear Solid 3 ein gutes Vorbild sein.

Fokus auf die Gräber
